BCCI contemplating nine-team IPL instead of 10 for now}}

The BCCI’s plans of bringing out a tender for two new IPL teams from 2020 onwards are now on the backburner and will introduce just one new franchise early next year. The body doesn't have a window to host 90-plus matches at the moment. But a 9-team IPL will bring the number of matches down to 76, for which the existing window can be stretched.
