Star to BCCI: Allow political advertisements during IPL}}

Under Clause 8.6 (B) of the Media Rights Agreement signed between BCCI and Star India Pvt. Ltd., "slotting of any political and/or religious advertisements during transmission is not permitted". Star, the official broadcast rights holder of the Indian Premier League, has requested BCCI to waive the clause indicative of the revenue potential of the election season.
